Today marks National Fitness Day. National Fitness Day is the UK’s annual celebration of physical activity and a welcome reminder of the endless mental, physical and social benefits of building an active lifestyle.
This year’s theme for National Fitness Day is ‘Your health is for life’, emphasising the importance of physical activity in helping people live longer, healthier lives.
Being active is vitally important to living longer and healthier lives, and research even suggests that spending as little as 11 minutes of walking every day can prevent one in 10 premature deaths.
