I am delighted that the Government has provided nearly £10 million to boot NHS capacity in Nottingham this winter.
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, which manages Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital, will be provided with £9.8 million in funding to operate 24 new hospital beds.
I have no doubt that this funding will help relieve winter pressures and cut waiting times for patients. These additional beds will help more people to be treated quickly and speed up the flow through the hospital.
This announcement is part of the Health Secretary’s Urgent and Emergency Care Recovery Plan, which will provide a £250 million investment in 900 beds across the country.
