On Monday I took part in the King’s Speech debate titled Building an NHS Fit for the Future. The Debate on the King’s Speech is held over several days in both Houses at the start of a new session of Parliament.
During my speech I welcomed the Government’s plans to introduce legislation which will create a smoke free generation by restricting the sale of tobacco so that children currently aged 14 or under can never be sold cigarettes.
I am also delighted that the Government plans to restrict the sale and marketing of e-cigarettes to children. I hope that the measures outlined in the King’s Speech will help our country become smoke free by 2030. To view my full speech please click on the following link.
