I am delighted to show my support for World Hepatitis Day.
Although NHS England recently announced that England is on track to eliminate Hepatitis C by 2025, many of the estimated 74,600 people living with Hepatitis C remain undiagnosed and the rate of new infections has not fallen in years.
This World Hepatitis Day, I am calling for more to be done to ensure that we don’t miss the 2025 target. I will continue to raise the importance of this issue in Parliament and make sure that we eliminate Hepatitis C by 2025.
In Erewash, it was great to see that hepatitis tests were being offered in Ilkeston yesterday. Any constituent who thinks they may be at risk should to come forward and get tested for Hepatitis C, as doing so will help us eliminate this deadly virus.
