Maggie Throup, Member of Parliament for Erewash, joined local residents at the Erewash Museum for a community plant swap.
At the event, residents exchanged plants that they had grown for something new. The plant swap also saw local residents discuss the concept of developing the Erewash Museum’s garden into a community garden, as well as passing on great gardening tips to each other.
Maggie commented:
“As everyone will know, I am a keen gardener, and I was delighted to pop along to the plant swap at the Museum. There were many different plants to swap, and I was pleased to exchange some indoor plants for plants which I will know will grow well in the shady part of my garden.
“The Erewash Museum is important to our community, and I am pleased that there were positive discussions to make the walled garden into a community garden. I fully support this great community idea.
“The Erewash Museum will be holding another plant swap at the Coronation Celebration Party on Monday 8th May between 11am and 3pm. I would encourage gardeners and anyone who is interested in supporting the local museum to go along to this event.”
